Joey, Auguste & Ringmaster

Joey, Auguste & Ringmaster begins to explore the exquisite dynamics of two and three clown relationships. Also referred to as the manipulator or high status(Joey), the victim or low status (Auguste), and the perfect balance between the two (Ringmaster).

This workshop begins with many exercises designed for the discovery of both or all three of these archetypes within the individual. Each participant will have the opportunity to bring out both the Joey and the Auguste to engage with their complimentary counterparts in the external world.

The exercises of this workshop are done primarily working in partnership with other performer(s). It is not necessary to bring a partner but if participants come together they will have opportunities to work with several different participants during the workshop.

Although this course is for more advanced clown performance technique, participants are welcome at any stage of the development of work; from already partnered and ready to work material in progress, to those coming alone with a beginner mindset towards learning the skill and technique required for duo and trio work in clown.

There will be at least one work in progress public performance of duo/trio turns at the end of this workshop.
