Dayna Lea Hoffmann (she/her)

Dayna Lea Hoffmann (she/her) is an award-winning multidisciplinary theatre artist based in amiskwaciwâskahikan ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (or Edmonton). As an actor, clown and circus artist, her practice is primarily based in the Canadian pedagogy of Pochinko Clown and a range of physical theatre styles, blending technique with a distinctly playful and subversive sensibility.

In 2026 Dayna received Alberta’s Lieutenant Governor Emerging Artist Award. She holds a BFA with distinction from the University of Alberta's Acting Program, where she was awarded a Roger S. Smith Grant for her research in gender and clowning. She additionally holds a diploma in Theatre Arts from Douglas College and is a former performer and teacher of the Vancouver Circus School, where she specialized in juggling and aerial silks. Since graduating, Dayna has performed in over 20 professional productions across Edmonton with companies including Northern Light, Shadow, Skirts-a-Fire, Freewill, TheatreYES, WWPT, Theatre Network, and more.

Currently, Dayna is a core member of the artistic leadership trio of Thou Art Here Theatre, an artist-driven theatre collective creating audience-engaged immersive experiences. Dayna is also the co-founder of Batrabbit Collective, an ad-hoc ensemble that seeks to redefine the unseen limitations of marginalized bodies in comedy. With Batrabbit, she tours and performs as Fingers in Rat Academy and Rat Academy 2, Gnaw and Order, two nationally acclaimed, award-winning clown shows.
